Dritto Onde Multicolor
Dritto, Italian for “straight”, is the name of this glass: a clean, upright shape made to be held and enjoyed every day. Each glass is hand-blown in Murano; once cooled, it is cold-carved on the grinding wheel, a technique we call molatura. Onde is the name of this carving: long, flowing ridges that wind horizontally around the glass, like the ripples of the lagoon. The cuts rise and fall, meet and split, so the surface seems set in motion. Each wave is cut by hand and no two are alike. The satin finish and soft edges catch the light, letting every colour deepen in the hollows and glow on the crests. Available in various colours and in three sizes, for water, wine and spirits. This glass is handcrafted and signed.
Slight variations may occur due to the artisanal process.
Dimensions: Large: H11 cm x W7 cm · Medium: H9 cm x W6 cm · Small: H7 cm x W5 cm
Price refers to one glass and varies depending on size.
Care: hand washing is recommended. Because of the matte finish created by the carving, dishwasher use may increase the opacity of the glass over time.

ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE
Cold Carving
The cold carving technique, Molatura, takes its name from the grinding wheel used to carve the cold glass, which in Italian is called "Mola".
Usually cold carving is process used to get rid of the cutting edges of the glass during the finishing phase, but can also be used as decorative tool. The different carvings make the tactile experience one of a kind, also allowing the light to play with the glass surfaces, reflecting colours in a unique way.
