Pozzo Rosé Coste

Defined by its sturdy, rotund body, the design of Pozzo recalls the typical Venetian water well. The glass is first hand-blown in Murano; once cooled, it is cold-carved on the grinding wheel, a technique we call molatura. Coste is the name of this carving: deep, vertical cuts that run along the body of the vase like ribs, creating a rhythmic, tactile surface. The final polishing gives the warm, delicate pink a faceted depth and completely transforms the visual and tactile perception of the glass. This vase is handcrafted and signed.

Slight variations may occur due to the artisanal process.

Dimensions: H13 cm x W16 cm

Care: clean with a damp cloth. If the water leaves a mark, a little vinegar on the cloth will remove it.

ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE

Cold Carving

The cold carving technique, Molatura, takes its name from the grinding wheel used to carve the cold glass, which in Italian is called "Mola".

Usually cold carving is process used to get rid of the cutting edges of the glass during the finishing phase, but can also be used as decorative tool. The different carvings make the tactile experience one of a kind, also allowing the light to play with the glass surfaces, reflecting colours in a unique way.
